Spend Your Lovely Time at the Lares Trek & Short Inca Trail 5 Days

Hikers experience the highlights of the Lares Valley Trek and the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. You get to see some of the most remote indigenous settlements where Inca traditions are preserved and learn from their people.

Magnificent glaciers, stunningly blue glacial lakes, cascades, llamas, & alpacas all make for a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop along our one-of-a-kind journey.

Experience the Great Beauty and Valleys Here

You’ll have an authentic Andean wilderness experience. Hikers on the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu for 2 days followed in the footsteps of the Incas as they made their way to Machu Picchu, visiting important Inca sacred centers and eventually entering the citadel through the Sun Gate.

What Can You See Here?

For the first two hours of your journey, you’ll be making a moderate ascent up to the first village you’ll visit, Kiswarani, where you’ll stop for lunch.

This is the “potato valley” segment of the trail, so named because it passes through an area where many different kinds of organic potatoes are grown. Your tour guide will also inform you about the presence of many native medicinal plants. A delicious lunch prepared by your hiking chef is guaranteed.

You will have the opportunity to visit several local homes and get a feel for the local way of life and historical customs. You can plan to stop by the Quechua school, where the students are still taught in their original tongue if time permits. Donations of toys, notebooks, or learning material are welcome as well. A few words of English might even be something you can pass on to them. Two more hours of steady ascent bring us to our overnight destination.

Lares trek & short Inca trail for 5 days

You may take in breathtaking panoramas of the Lares trek & short Inca trail for 5 days. As soon as you’ve completed getting ready for the day and packing up your belongings, breakfast will be served. After that, you’ll stock up on water and snacks before setting off on our trek to Machu Picchu. The ascent to the mountain’s peak is estimated to take three to four hours.
